It's
"Mid-Autumn Festival" in China, now a national holiday.
Lanterns, a lot of lanterns, would be in display. In our
hometown, family and friends would gather to play a game.

dices to see who has the luck to be “The Number One Scholar".
Here in the US, we do not have moon cakes and do not have lanterns.
But we had a big and bright moon in the sky, and we had
a quiet and happy evening.
We had a big and
bright moon in the sky, as well as a quiet and happy Mid-Autumn
Festival. The two images of the moon is direct from my camera,
not manipulated by Photoshop or the like.
The
two pictures here are taken on 9-21-2008, at our Nalani home.
The bottom one is Kevin learning math with his grandma.
这里的两张照片摄于二○○八年九月二十一日,在爷爷奶奶家。底下的照片是恺恩在跟奶奶学算术。
Kevin and Caleb riding the tiny automobile outside
grandparents' home. They did this three months ago before
they went to Taiwan. Now the car has become a little too
small to fit both of them in. They certainly have grown
up.
