I still walk at least 5000 steps each day, though not at one setting now. Camera is with me most of the time when I walk. I spotted a banada tree today, but so far have failed to see any sugar cane plants. How I miss my hometown far, far away! Update May 10, 2025: It's likely to rain tomorrow and/or day after, but today's sunshine is really gorgeous. Hence a few more photos of the clouds of today. One of our hometown friends sent me pictures of hometown sugar cane fields that they owned, see below. |

家乡的甘蔗，特别是沙洲岛的，真是又脆又甜，每年的11月这里举办甘蔗节。表弟妹娘家沙洲，他们买了一小片甘蔗林（只买这片地里这一季的甘蔗），放一把刀在地里，想吃了就去砍几根。真是实现了甘蔗自由了。沙洲岛现在很漂亮，周末很多人去那露营。 Hometown sugar cane, especially those from Sha Zhou Islet, is sweet and crispy. They have a Sugar Cane Festival in November. My cousins married here, and they have bought a small plot of sugar cane field. With a knife hidden in the field, they went for sugar cane whenever they felt like it. What a joy! Sha Zhou Islet has attracted a lot of town folks to camp there over the weekend. |

It's getting warmer, and that comes with more and more blossoms. The front of our house has turned into a small garden. New leaves have sprung out on our date tree (top right) that we planted year yearts ago.
