Xiamen government and real estate developers have set aside a lot of land and open space for parks, which makes the city more beautiful and attractive.

These are some of the seaside parks.

这是环岛公路沿线的海滨公园。

This is another park, the Egret Park, in the heart of the city.
这是“白鹭洲公园”,在市区。
Tropical plants can be seen everywhere, though not as abundant as in Hawaii.
热带植物虽然没夏威夷多,却也到处可见。
This is said to be the city flower.
据说这是厦门的市花--三角梅。
This is said to be the city bird--egret (the one in dark glasses excluded).
据说这是厦门的市鸟-白鹭(当然,带黑眼镜的那位不算)。

These are in the same park, the Egret Park, in the heart of the city.

这都在“白鹭洲公园”,在市区。

The statues here depict a game that Xiamen folks like to play at night on Mid-Autumn Festival.  With cakes and candies as trophy, they throw dices to see who has the luck to be “The Number One Scholar". Before someone becomes the number one scholar, the game keeps on until all the cakes are allotted. The game is also popular in other places.

这组塑像描绘的是在厦门,以及许多其他地方,都很热门的,老少咸宜的中秋节“博状元饼”。
