March 3 is traditional Girls' Day (or Doll Festival, or Ohina-sama) for Japanese girls. We had Misa posted with the dolls from Misa's grandparents in Japan. |

三月三是日本女孩子的女兒節，，又稱人偶節。应送礼物的日本亲家亲家母的要求，我们抱着雨诗跟穿著日式和服的娃娃组合合影，祝雨诗健康平安長大成人。 |

to climb onto me or onto our bed in our room and jump about. He
cut himself badly the other day while I was not looking. When his parents
came home to inspect on his bruises, he simply said: (It's) Grandpa. |

Sage posting with his mom on May 5, Japanese Boys' Day (Tango-no-Sekku). In his hand is the carp-shaped banner symbolizing the vitality and bravery of the carp. Behind them is the warrior doll from his Japanese grandparents and great-grandparents. The warrior doll bears Sage's name and carries the wishes of the family for Sage to be a brave and manly boy. |

These
days Li-qing and I spent a lot of time in Vancouver, WA, where our younger
son, daughter-in-law, and their two babies live. This page is
dedicated mostly to the two babies: Sage, 2, and Misa, 6 months.
