Fuzhou is about 300 kilometers (KM) away from Xiamen.  In the old days, it would take about six hours for a bus to travel at a speed of about 35KM per hour. Nowadays, all highway speed has been increased to about 65 KM per hour.  In our trip, as we had our nephew driving us in his Toyota VIOS, we were able to stop at Luoyang, where Li-qing's parents and ancestors used to live, and where an old building is still preserved in honor of her ancestors.

Luoyang is barren of trees, but has a lot of stones.  The locals are skilled crafters, and have produced stone sculptures for use all over the country.  Here are a few stone sculpture shops along the highway.
此地无树,却到处是石头。当地人擅长搬石、运石,并把石头雕刻成精美的塑像,远销到全国各地。这里是沿公路看到的一些工场。
