In
my hometown, there is one Christian
church, with a congregation of about 200 people, plus an even
smaller Catholic church. The popular form of religion, when
people are free to practice, is Buddhism.
There are
innumerable Buddhist temples everywhere, where believers come
with their offerings, and wishes, any day, and in particular
the first and the fifteenth of every lunar month.

was taken by the government during the Cultural Revolution, and
used since as a warehouse, at least up to 1995 when I took the
picture. |
