 Images
of Hongkong will invariably compose of high-rise buildings overlooking
the bay. If you look closer, you will see busy streets full
of very busy people. Still closer, in particular during
the weekend, you will see many house-maids gathering on the sidewalks
and under overpass bridges. They are house-maids mostly
from Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, and are using
their day-off to meet with other house-maids from their home country.
If a tiny island such as Hongkong can absorb so many people, and
attract still more people, it is good for a reason.

香港印象总离不开九龙湾旁高耸云霄的各色各样的楼房。如果你近些看，就会看到忙碌的街路上走着节奏飞快的人们。再近点看，尤其是周末，你会看到一群群女人在树丛下，街道旁，人行桥下。她们是来自菲律宾、泰国、越南和印尼的女佣，趁周末放假出来散心，跟她们的家乡人聊聊，打电话或寄包裹回去。香港地方小，却能容纳那么多人，而且仍吸引着很多人。说它好，肯定是有理由的。 |

Public transportation,
as well as traffic in Hongkong, is good. To go from one
part of the island to the other part, though, will still take
about two hours, for you have to change trains or buses. |

Outside the cabin,
we can see the beautiful Hongkong island, but we are wishing to
go home now. Traveling and seeing friends and relatives is of
course good, but they are tired, and we are tired too. We will
need to go back and work for another four years, then come for
another visit. |
