Nine days after our grand-daughter, Misa, was born, we, her grandparents, decided to pay the baby and her parents in Vancouver, Washington a second visit.  We took the Amtrak train from Salem and arrived at Portland Union Station about an hour later.  Our son Wei came to pick us up, and we spent the rest of the day in his home before returning to Salem that same evening, by bus operated by Amtrak.

While Misa's two-year-old brother Sage needs attention all the time, Misa is asleep most of the times, and barely opens her eyes.   But, holding her in my arms, and feeling her body warmth, I clearly saw the bloodline flowing over generations, from the 9-day-young grand-daughter to the 71-year-old grandpa. What a blessing!  What promises ahead!

在我们的孙女雨诗诞生九天之后，我们这当爷爷奶奶的决定再去看她们一下。我们从我们所在城市 Salem 乘坐火车。一小时以后到达波特兰火车站。庄伟开车来接，半小时后到达他在华盛顿州温哥华市的家。当天傍晚，我们再搭乘班车回Salem.  

两岁的星词是雨诗的哥哥。小哥哥往往要人陪他玩。而小妹妹大部分时间是安安静静地自己睡觉。抱着她，感受到她的体温，似乎看到一条跨越时空的生命线，一代传到一代，从出生九天的她到年过七十的我。感觉好极了！
