不忘捞螃蟹 crabbing remembered

Our weather here is still cold. Next week could go down to the 20s, with possibility of rain and snow. As yesterday (2-18-2022) was not too cold (40s), we came again to Newport to crab. The first time we visited this place was 30 years ago, when a Chinese student brought us here at night (to meet the high tide). Since then we had often been here, until we bought our own beach house five years ago. Yesterday we got here about 10, worked hard until 2. As we were approaching the crabbing limit (rock crab 24 each), we got back to our beach home up north. For dinner, we had crab porridge.

The Covid is not over here yet, but people are free to move about, and masks are not strictly enforced. Just wish this epidemic will soon be over all the globe.

我们这里天气还很冷，接下去会冷至零下七度，而且会下雨下雪。因此，趁天气还好（零上五度）我们昨天（2022.2.18）来“新港”捞螃蟹。第一次来“新港”，是30年前的夜晚（算了潮水），由一位华人留学生带的路。时过境迁，从此我们常来到这个地方，直到五年前我们自己买了海滨屋。我们昨天10点到，奋战到下午2点。算了算螃蟹数，快到上限了（每人24头红螃蟹）才回去我们北边的海滨屋。晚餐就吃螃蟹稀饭。

我们这里疫情还不算结束，但人们活动自由，口罩戴不戴也不怎么限制了。希望瘟疫早日在全球消亡。
