2121年晚秋 Fall 2021

I have not updated my family page for quite some time, because there is nothing special happening. All is quiet and peaceful here. Physically I am doing fairly well too. Going out for a walk in the neighborbood daily for about 50 minutes. Sleeping 8 to 9 hours every night, plus 1 hour or so for a nap. Other times I would read and watch, and work on my computer--with glasses, although after my cateract surgery with corrective lens, I can do all of that without eye glasses.

I do have some memory elapse regarding recent events, but past events are loud and clear. Recently I am re-reading Lung Ying-tai's Big River, Big Sea 1949 (Chinese edition) and like it very much. Her analytical eye and her compassionate humanity made this book powerful and touching.

Of the pictures on this page, some are designed for Halloween, and are surely ghostly and scary.

很久没有给自己的网页更新了，因为日子过得平平淡淡。我身体还好，每天照样到室外去走路50分钟左右。晚上会睡八九个小时，午睡还睡一个小时左右。其他时候看书看电脑看电视--戴眼镜。其实，我白内障切除以后，因为手术中添加了改良视力的晶片，我现在看近和看远均可以不戴眼镜的。

我的记性有些问题了，近期的容易忘。但旧事记得清清楚楚，特别这几天我正在重读龙应台写的“大江大海一九四九”。（可惜这本书没有在大陆出版。）翻天覆地的1949，给无奈卷入其中的人带来诸多灾难。

本页的照片，有几张有妖魔鬼怪的是这里万圣节的风俗。到那一天 (十月三十一），儿童们会煞有其事地化装一番，登门讨糖果。
