We are grateful for our gathering, and the turkey that Liqing took three days to prepare was really good. When families gathered, the proof of happiness is not in the pudding, but in the company, and in particular, in the company of grandchildren. We are really blessed. In China, a rumor had been circulated that Christmas celebrations were not allowed, at least not encouraged. It turned out that something was in the air, but was not blowing too hard. I am putting up pictures from three hometown Christian churches. Merry Christmas to everyone! |
我们的圣诞晚餐以烤火鸡为主。今年的火鸡烤得很入味，人人称赞。单单一道火鸡，丽卿就料理了三天。当然，当一家人相聚在一起的时候，最关键的不是食材，而是人，特别是年纪最小的人。我们是有福的。 在家乡，早先有相传不让庆祝圣诞。是有点风声鹤唳，但也有庆祝的。附上三处家乡基督教会的庆祝照片，并祝乡亲们节日愉快安详！ |

Christmas here in the US is quiet and peaceful. We went to Wei's at Vanvouver, WA for the family reunion, and we got to see the two younger grandchildren and their high, unlimited energy in full display. That was actually what made our visit most worthwhile, and our hearts more tender than ever. They are always a joy, and a gift in themselves--more than all the presents under the Christmas tree that Wei and Maki had elaborately set up.
